Ultrasonic Cleaning
With the largest ultrasonic cleaning tank in New Zealand, Heat Exchanger Services can provide a cost effective solution for both our customers and the environment.
The process we undertake uses soundwaves to create compression waves with liquid in the tank. These waves tear the liquid apart leaving behind millions of microscopic voids or partial vacuum bubbles (cavitation.) These bubbles collapse with enormous energy. Temperatures of 10,000 k and pressures of 50,000lbs per square inch have been recorded, however they are on such a small scale that they do no more than clean and remove surface dirt and contaminants.
We are proud that while ultrasonic cleaning is taking place at Heat Exchanger Services, low chemical concentrations are used thus making the process more environmentally friendly unlike other methods of cleaning, like hot dip tanks, where very high concentrations of chemicals need to be used to make them effective.
Cleaning tanks with high concentrations of chemical not only clean the cooler but often corrode the base material, shortening the life of an expensive cooler.
